Loose shredded paper goes all over the place and sticks to everything, so no surprise that municipalities don’t accept it in their recycling program. Some, however, will take it if it is contained, such as in a plastic or paper bag.

Tip! If you compost, small amounts of shredded paper are a good addition to your pile!
